Suffering for Christ

Suffering for Christ can be seen in many ways. It can be laying down your life or giving up your status. It is taking a stand for what you know is right and true. Not caring about the consequences. I suffered in a weird way this week.

The fear of nuclear power.

Just this past week the Washington Post announced that “President Barack Obama says he is “not reconciled” to the idea of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon within a year.” He says that the U.S. government is moving the complete opposite direction.

Golfing By Faith

I have always enjoyed golfing. Even though I rarely have the time to get on a golf course during the busy summer months I was able to take some time today and actually go golfing with some of my staff. After driving over an hour we arrived at a little 9 hole course in Sandy Lake, Manitoba. We hit the tee at 8:00 am, the air still cool, but the bright morning sunshine was warm as the grass sparkled from the previous nights rain. I stood and surveyed the fairway. A straight shot a little over 300 yards with the green tucked in next to a bank.

Pondering the footsteps of Jesus

So tonight I had a thought that I could not shake and had to ponder for awhile. It is a thought that holds no real importance in life itself, but more of interest. I am sure that if one could convince that it was true, and if it actually was, it would hold a great insight on the footsteps of Christ. However, since it cannot be proven and can only rest in my mind I am left to ponder. It happened in a chapel time at our cooperate staff training as I listened to our speaker for the weekend Rob Haslam.

Forgiveness in relationships

In 1874, a couple of brothers had a fight over the land they had jointly inherited from their father. Instead of properly settling the dispute, one brother built a large home on the land while the other brother was away in the military. When the traveling brother returned home, he found his inheritance usurped by his own brother. Angry and bitter he decided to spite his greedy brother and build a small house on what was left of the land they both owned, thereby blocking his brother’s nice view. Now that house still stands today.
