are you real

Yall I've been thinking a lot lately about the people in this world who claims to be Christians. God has place this on my heart for a while now telling me to share it. I never thought that myspace or xanga jeremy camp camp or any place online would be a good place to share it until right now. Now when you are done reading this and you don't think you are real. leave me a message, or add troystatestudent4god to your yahoo messenger list and send me a private message and we can talk about how to become real. In Acts chapter 2 verse 21, Peter saids, and Romans chapter 10 verse 13, Paul saids "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Now some of you may be thinking that verse is very simple, call on the name of the Lord and I will be saved. I believe that verse saids much much more than just that. Now I'm a guy that likes to use scenarios, and I'm going to use one about a a guy by the name of Joe Snot. Ignore the weird name of the guy cause I'm trying to be as serious as i possibly can here. Now lets say Joe has been attending a particular church for 6 months. During this time, Joe has saw a ton of people come to the Lord Jesus and got recognition for it. Well Joe wanted the same recognition so he decided to walk the isle and tell the pastor I'm ready to accept Jesus. During this blog I'm going to be asking a ton of question, my first question is when Joe went up the isle to get recognition, did he really call upon the name of the Lord or was he playing games? I will let you decide that for yourself. I believe if you are a real Christian, you should have 3 things. The first thing you should have is a relationship with God. and there are 3 very important things you must do to have a relationship with God. The first one is pray. We see many times in the scriptures where Jesus prayed, and we all know that Jesus was God's only begotten Son (John 3:16"). So if Jesus prayed, don't you think we should too. The second thing we need to do is read out Bible. I know a lot of people that claims to be Christians, but never ever reads their Bibles. How are we suppose to know about the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, if we don't read about Him. Well James, isn't that what church is for. Yes it is but it saids in 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." In other words, what Paul is telling us there that we must read the scriptures, we must read our Bible. Plain and simple. The third thing you must have is that friendly one on one chit chat with God. Well James, isn't that praying. Well yes and no. The way I look at a friendly chit chat is by talking to Him the way you would talk to your spouse, you boyfriend/girlfriend, or even your best friend. He wants that personal one on one talk with you. Its really really important to have a relationship with God if you are a Christian. If you don't have that relationship, you might want to check your heart and ask yourself "Am I real?" Now let's go back to my friend Mr. Joe Snot. After walking down the isle, and saying he was ready to accept Jesus, he never prayed, never read his Bible, never talked to God. Is Joe saved? I'll let you answer that question to yourself. The second thing you must have is the lifestyle of a Christian. Now before Joe walked down the isle, he was really into drugs, alcohol, and had sex with as many women he could possible have sex with. Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." What Paul is saying there that when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you will have an instant change, a lifestyle change. Now lets go back to Joe. After Joe left church that day, he went back out and still drank the alcohol, still did the drugs, and still had the sex. Now according to Paul, has Joe become a new creature, no. So the next question I'm going to ask is, is Joe saved? In my honest opinion, no. Well why not James? Cause he didn't become the new creature Paul talks about there in verse 17. Now I'm going to ask you, when you said you gave your life over to Christ, did you become a new creature. Did you say goodbye to your old lifestyle? Did old things pass away and all things become new? If the answer is no, you may want to check your heart. The third thing is a conviction. We are going to sin. Its our human nature to. Since Adam took a bite of the forbidden fruit, sin has been a part of this world. Its the conviction we feel after we have sinned that will let us know if we are real or not. A little testimony for you on conviction. Back in June, I bought me a car from a guy I knew. I drove it around for about a month when the guy told me he wanted the tag on the car back. In the month I had the car, I never got it registered, never put insurance on it, and of course never put my own tag on it. Well mid September rolls around, I'm on my way home from work, I get stopped by a Baldwin County deputy sheriff, still without a tag, still not registered, still without insurance. All I had was my license and a bill of sale with no date on it. The deputy sheriff came to my window and said "Hey sir, how are you doing? The reason I stopped you was cause you didn't have a tag." I told the officer "I just bought the car last week. I haven't had time to go get a tag jet." He said "Can i see proof of registration and insurance?" Once again I told him "I haven't had time to do any of that either sir. All I have is a bill of sale." He took my bill of sale, my license, did what he had to do and came back. When he came back he said "I'm going to show you what kind of guy I am. I could write you anywhere from $600-$800 in tickets, but I'm not going to do that. I will say this though, if I catch you driving without a tag again, you will be in big trouble." I said "Thank you sir." He went back to his car turned around and continued going where ever he was going. The second my driver side front tire hit the road, the Holy Spirit hit me like a ton of bricks. "James Franklin Holliday Junior, what is wrong with you. You lied to a deputy sheriff. You didn't lie to your parents, your girlfriend, or even some stranger on the street, you lied to a cop." That's what I call heavy conviction. I pulled my car over right then and started begging for forgiveness. I couldn't believe I sat right there, knowing good and well that I'm gonna be a youth minister and I'm going to tell my youth not to lie, and I just did, and did it to a cop. How many of you can honestly say, James I've felt convicted for my sins. If you can't, once again I'm going to say, maybe you might need to check your heart. If you can honestly say, "I have the relationship, I have the lifestyle, and i feel the conviction", then I believe you are good to go. If you can't, I want to talk with you about how to get real with God. Matthew 24 is the chapter on the end times, and if you read it, you will see a lot of the things mentioned there is happening here today. Which means we are in the end times. The rapture is coming soon. If you are not real, talk to me and I will tell you how to get real. This is the kind of ministry God has called me to. It's a tough one but one I'm going to take and run with it. Once again, I'm going to ask "Are you real"
