Music in Church..Where to draw the Line?

Where do you draw the line with Music played during Church?  I usually play only more comtemporary worship music..Chris Tomlin, Jeremy's worship project songs, couple MercyMe songs, 1 Casting Crowns song before, etc..One time with 3 of our Church teenagers we did a 5 song stint with ThirdDay God of Wonders and that Raised a Few eyebrows with some Older Members but they didn't say anything about it.   I try to tone down and respect all members old and young.  To me the more Rockin the song the better sometimes but its all worship and Glory for Him when I play, sing,

With lots of great Christian Musicians out there what draws us to Jeremy?  Myself was 2 years ago at a Hills Alive festival in Rapid City SD.  I did have his restored CD at the time and just purchased Beyond Measure a few weeks earlier.  His music was good but I didn't know much about the man behind it.  From the start of their set, I knew that there was something special about his heart for the Lord.  He read scripture and prayed and even cried when he gave his testimony about his 1st wife.  It was then I realized that the Concert is all about worship and the

12 years ago my faithful companion Angel, a beatiful Golden Retriever, and I were Goose Hunting near a lake that resembled more of a huge pond or slough.  It was mid November and a small crust of ice had covered most of the lake surface.  My friend Dave gave us permission to hunt his land that borders this central South Dakota lake.  We just finished putting the sneak on a flock of Snow Geese and shot 3 of them that all fell on the ice.  My dog ran out onto the ice to retrieve the first goose then headed back out, this time falling through the thin ice about 80yards from

40 years ago my father Larry was diagnosed with Muscular Sclerosis "MS"  At the time he had 3 young boys and a loving wife to take care of.  His life was forever changed.  The disease gradually progresses and in just a few years he couldn't work anymore.  Through all this time his Faith in God has carried him from birthday to birthday.  After about 20 years he finally lost his mobility and used a wheelchair from then on.  Dad has spent many months in Hospitals for numerous things brought on from MS.  Yet, whenever I see him he's always happy and smilling.&

How many time do things happen and we say Life isn't Fair?  I praise God that life isn't fair!  The wages of Sin is DEATH and all of us sin and fall short of the Glory of God..If life was fair we would all perish since we all broke the Law of God.....But, we have a Loving and Forgiving Father who gave us His only Son to be a Living Sacrifice for us taking all our sin on His shoulders..what greater way to show love for us than to lay down His live for us, no matter how undeserving we are..I Am Sooo Glad Life isn't Fair!

Last evening, my youngest child Nichole, was wide awake dancing and singing around the living room.  Pretty normal most would say but not at 11pm.  My wife said Colie had been yawning since 7pm but just wouldn't lay down.  For those of you with 3 year olds this is pretty common.  She is always so happy with not a care in the world.  She believes everything she hears at this prescious young age.  At last she sat up on the couch beside me and covered up with my blanket and we were just talking and singing how God is Bigger than the Boogie Man from Vegie Tale

Modern day Job?

All of us have a time during our day or week that we really connect with God.  When is that time for you and what are you doing that Draws You Close to Him?  I feel the closest to God when I have my guitar and am singing Praise and Worship Songs to my Audience of One!  How about You?

Christians Bashing Christians

Last weekend there was a Christian Music Festival in Rapid City SD.  Lots of great bands, music, and Worship.  We had 20 poeple all together with my group, many attending an event like this for the 1st time ever!  I Pray this had a lasting impact on all of them drawing them nearer to God!  Early this week checking some of the articles in the hometown newspaper I read some of the comments about the music festival.  Its so sad to see lots of so called Christians bashing other Christians just because they don't like the music.  Then other Christians that love
