Avoid False Doctrines

I ran into a religious cult recently. These people are called Dispensationalists. They believe we are saved by grace ALONE. You don't have to do ANYTHING, but believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and you will be saved. They say not to listen to Jesus's teachings because they were for the Jews not us Gentiles. They don't believe in The Law, Repentance, Baptism, or Communion. Question: If you don't believe in what Jesus says or does, then do you really believe in him(have faith)? Answer: NO! Dispensationalists are just saying they believe to get saved.

God's Unconditional Love

I'm studying 1John Chapter 4. In the beginning of this chapter (1John 4:1-6) God tells us how we can tell the difference between the people of this world and God's people. Then he tells us to love one another (1John 4:7). We must love both God's people and the people of this world. I believe this is why Jesus said, "Love thine enemy". I personally have failed to do this sometimes.

When we get to 1John 4:18 we should understand that perfect love is unconditional. I have been fearful at times, and struggle not to fear anything. Fear is torment, and you can feel it. 

Short Story - Perspectives

Jesus and I went fishing yesterday. Not many fish were in the creek yet and few were biting. Its was very crowded. Most people were disappointed. I didn't catch any fish, but every fisherman I spoke with was pleasant and curtious. The education was priceless.  (Mat 4:19) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

How Does God See You?

Did you know that wearing you finest clothes to Church on Sunday doesn't mean anything to God.  Your putting on a show for this world to see. He doesn't care about your appearance. He doesn't look at that cross around your neck either. I often wondered how god saw me. Then he gave me the answer. "For the LORD seeth not as man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart" (1Samuel 16:7) Is Jesus your friend? The highest relationship to Jesus is true friendship.

God Saved My Life

When I was 6yrs old me and a friend named Lenny were playing in my garage. We climbed into an old clothing trunk. The lid shut and latched. We screamed and cried until we were almost out of air, but nobody heard us. Then Lenny looks at me and says "What do we do now?" I said "we pray". We put our hands together and I said " God please help us we are too young to die". I then heard these words plain as day. "Scream now as loud as you can or you will never get out of here". I told Lenny what I heard. We screamed one last time until we were out of air.

Born of the Spirit

This is how it happened to me. I was 40 yrs old unhappy with my perfomance, and life decissions. I was going through severe depression. While sitting on my couch, I thought "I should just let God take over and tell me what to do, nobody could ruin their life any better than I did." I said to him, " I give my life to you, you either tell me what to do, or I'm not moving off this couch. I will just sit here until I die." I really meant it too. I was not going to continue as I did in the past, even if I had to die on that couch. It wasn't long though he came to me.
