Harvest Crusade - Seattle Edition ;)
HELLO my fellow followers/friends/lovers of Christ. I went to the Harvest Crusade back on November 5th because I needed it and God wanted me to be there. SO I got to the Key Arena around 1:30pm thinking that people would be already lining up. HAH, no. I got there and to my surprise NO ONE WAS THERE! I was quite shocked as you can say. So I just chilled in front of the venue and such and talking to random people, walking around the outside of the venue and whatnot.
Finally after 2 hours someone showed up in line and we started talking and getting to know each other. He didn't know that this was going on until he saw a billboard and headed right to the venue. So for an hour or so went by and we got dinner and we had coffee and such. Talking to random strangers and homeless people that wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I'm grateful that it's a free event because I know that a lot of homeless people don't know what to do; one guy in particular said that he has no hope and he wanted to see what's going on and what not. I didn't see him after the event but I hope and pray that, that one guy, got saved!
5pm rolled by and more and more people started lining up. YAY! and my friends showed up and let me tell you, it was raining and cold that day and I was outside for like 5 hours. (Should I get some sort of award for awesomeness for that?
) The doors opened up at 6 and I was pretty close to the stage w/ a nice view(they have to floor open for the Alter Call) and the event doesn't start until 7:20 so my friends and I just chilled in our seats singing to the songs they had on the speakers. The event started and everyone was cheering and whatnot. The Katinas came on and sang Everlasting God (one of my FAVORITE songs by Jeremy by the way
) and also Blessed be the Name. During "Blessed" I looked over to the other side and I saw Leif filming (PODCAST YAY!) and I was stoked. Two other artist came on and all of a sudden (if you are a Huskies Men's basketball team fan you would know who I am talking about) Lorenzo Romar came out to speak (he's the head coach of the team) and I was like NO WAY!!! hahaha, because I love the Huskies and also I didn't know he was a Christian! He told us his testimony and it was great :)
Then... JEREMY CAMP CAME ON!!!! First song he played was "Jesus Saves" (of course
) second song was "This Man" and last song was "There Will Be A Day" then he was booted off by Greg Laurie (HAHA!) I was like awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh
I wanted him to play more but the event had to go on. When Greg was speaking my friend and I looked at each other and we're like WE ARE RE-DEDICATING!!! So when the alter call came up at the end of the sermon, my friend and I were one of the first people down there. We had NO hesitation. The Katinas sang during the AC (as I like to call it) and afterwards we were handed a card to write down our information. I don't go to church because I haven't found the right one for me.
Then I looked up and I saw that Walt Smith (Bass guitarist) Donnie Cox (keyboardist) and Andy Davis (guitarist) on stage just getting stuff down and I yelled at them saying good job and such and they looked at me and smiled and said Thanks! Then to my HAPPINESS I saw Brandon Ebel (CEO/Founder of Tooth And Nail/BEC/Solid State Records) I FLIPPED out because I really want to work for that record label SO BAD. So I was heading over there and I got side-tracked by Leif haha! I wanted to say something to him and when I did he and the rest of the band (No Jeremy which is fine) came over to my friend and I and we started talking to them! SO COOL! Donnie was asking questions like what do you do and I told him and we were having a blast. Unfortunately my friend, whom I dearly love, asked this to Leif "Do you work for Tooth and Nail?" Donnie, Walt, Andy, Leif and I looked at him and I said "HE'S the drummer!" lol!! HE WAS SO EMBARASSED! After all that I finally said to Leif that I watch all of the podcast and he was very appreciative. :D They all went back to what they were doing and I finally yelled at Brandon to come over.
I told him who I was and he was like OH HI!!! Shook my hand violently and ask how I was doing (AAHHHHHH) and we were asking him about Jeremy and how he should visit us Seattleites in the spring time and he's like we can do something about that. Then I told him that I want to work for him and he's like AWESOME! while shaking my hand again LOL and then what was very odd to me was we started playing thumb war. (????) I was confused but it was awesome again... after that we said our good byes and we left!!
That was my night... and it was THE BEST NIGHT EVER!!!! God SURELY knows what He is doing. I'm so grateful. So thanks be to God because without Him, I wouldn't be here.
PEACE OUT, Nikki
