He wants to use YOU

There is a lot of focus on this passage around Christmas time each year. We hear the story of the angels appearing to the shepherds and telling them about the birth of the Son of God, the Savior of the world. Do you know why it is significant that the angels appeared to shepherds? Shepherds were looked at as the lowest class of people. Most people didn't trust them. Their testimony was not accepted in a court of law. So, why would God send His angels to shepherds first? God wants us to know that He has not left anyone out. He doesn't discriminate against someone due to race, religion, or past! We, humans, have a tendancy to write people off because of who they are or what they've done, but God doesn't. He called for these lowly shepherds to be His first witnesses to the birth of His Son. He didn't choose the elite, the wealthy, or the influencial, as He could have, He chose shepherds and He chose me, and He chose you. The fact that God would use me to tell others about the birth of His Son is amazing! After all that I've done, the fact that He could use me is definately praise-worthy. When is the last time that you've thought about the fact that God wants to use YOU? He doesn't need you, He wants to use you and your life (the good, the bad and the ugly) to glorify Himself.
