Lucky
Late one moonlit evening, my husband and I decided to take a leisurely bicycle ride. As we were riding along a quiet street, we heard a cry sounding like a newborn babe. Well, my husband stopped to see what it was. I did not want to stop as I was preoccupied by the recent news I had gotten of my Mom having cancer which had spread to the liver. My husband did stop and called to me "It's a kitten" and I asked him to bring it home for me. He wrapped the kitten in his t-shirt and brought it to our home Being only 3 weeks old I had to bottle-feed the kitten everyday, even coming home from work on lunch break to feed her. Oh boy what a challenge she was. However when it became time to give her away, that kitten whom we had now named Lucky. I could not give her away as I had realized God put her in my path that I might remember life goes on despite the fact that I was losing my Mom to cancer. God DOES step in when life gets too hard in the most mysterious ways too. Four years later I still have Lucky and she does remind me daily of His many blessings.
