I was crying last night.

Jeremy has a live version of his moving song, This Man. (lyrics below) So basically, if you know the unplugged version, you know at the end,Jeremy says

Would you take the place of this man?
Would you take the nails from his hands?

But that s not really what he says.
That last line is actually:

Would you take MY nails from His hands.

I cannot tell you how excited I got when i heard that.
When Jeremy explained the meaning behind the song on the album, he said

One day while reading through the crucifixion, I thought that if there was a way that I could take Christs place so that He would not have to go through what He endured, would I be able to? Would I do the same for him? We would all like to think that we would. BUT in all actuality, we could not say...he not only went through everything for me, but for the whole world.

So what Jeremy is saying there is that Christ took our place on the cross. It should have been US on that cross. Those were OUR nails, but they were used on Jesus. When Jesus went to the cross, he took the sin of the world upon him. So the question isnt just

Would I go through all the pain and suffering he endured, and take his place,

BUT it is actually:

Would I go through all the pain and suffering he endured, take his place AND have the weight of the sin placed upon me?

And the answer is: NO! Thats why Jeremy said: BUT in all actuality, we could not say...he not only went through everything for me, but for the whole world.
