why do we make the gospel so complicated

As i sit back and look at the world today, i see a lot of lost people who are on their way to hell.  i ask myself why?  why are they going to hell?  is it cause im not doing my job as a Christian?  are my friends not doing their job as Christians?  is the church not doing their jobs as Christians?  the answers to those 3 questions are both yes and no.  there are times when i just dont feel like sharing the gospel and i dont.  and i know i have friends that are Christians that dont share their faith and i also know that there are people in the church that dont either.  i dont believe that is the main reason why these lost souls are going to hell.  the reason?  we have made the gospel to complicated.  how you might ask.  well i am about to tell you.  we have added our own ideas and opinions to the gospel while we are sharing it.  im going to give just an handful of examples of what im talking about here in just a little bit.  my Bible tells me in romans chaper 10 and in verse 9 that if we confess with our mouths Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead we will be saved.  the Bible also saids Jesus died on the cross for my sins.  that is the gospel in a nut shell.  Jesus died on the cross to where i could live.  but we have added our own ideas, beliefs, and religion and have made Christianity the most confusing religion on the world.  one thing some of us have added is that the person must change before God will accept him/her into the kindgom.  ive heard so many Christians say before you come into my church, you need to stop drinking, stop smoking, stop cussing, stop whatever sin you might have.  where in the world did that come from.  my Bible tells me to come as i am before the Father, not get rid of the junk in my life and then come.  so why do we tell people that they need to change themselves before God will accept them.  another thing we do is throw what our denominational doctrine saids and not what the Bible saids.  for example, and i know im going to get some arguements on this one but im not here to argue so keep the disagreements to yourself, is we throw in you must be baptized to be saved.  im sorry but no matter how much you throw that at me, the Bible does not say that baptism is a part of salvation.  that is not what Jesus said, it is not what Paul said in Romans, so we do we say it. another thing we like to do is twist scriptures around.  i use to be the worlds worst at twisting scriptures around,  but what happens when we twist scriptures around is that when the person we share Jesus with goes and reads it and it doesnt say what we say it does, he could look at us as liars.  another thing some like to do is say ok now that you are saved you need to speak in tounges, lay hands on the sick and watch them be healed, raise the dead, oh and while you are at it, that man over there has a demon in him, go cast that demon out.  thats just flat out nonsense.  i believe in all those things i just mentioned, but do i believe i have all those gifts, no.  thats exactly what those are are gifts from the holy spirit.  i believe not everybody will be able to heal the sick or speak in tongues.  i could be wrong.  but the point is why do we teach that.  another thing, oh now that you are saved, you have to go out and get a King James Version of the Bible.  its the only Bible thats right.  please.  i have been to churches that has told me that since i read the NIV the New American Standard and the New King James, that i wasnt reading the true word of God and i wasnt growing, and i was saved for 19 years at this time.  im going to ask a funny question here but im being serious when i ask it.  when i stand before Jesus, do you honestly think hes going to tell me "James Holliday Jr., since you didnt read the King James Version of the Bible, you do not deserve to enter into My kingdom, depart from me for i never knew you"?  absolutely not, so why do we throw that on new Christians.  i am going to you why what ive mentioned here has made the gospel so confusing for the lost.  ive picked on scott and laura long enough so im going to pick 2 more to pick on, kelly and sarah.  now lets say for some unknown weird reason the three of us decided to meet in cleveland ohio to go minister.  im not saying its not going to happen but thats not important.  we all 3 find the same person thats lost to minister too.  now i have no idea what denomination the girls are but im just going to use this an an example.  im an ex southern baptist turned into a Holy Ghost filled pentacostal but im going to play the roll of a southern baptist, we will let sarah play the methodist, and sarah if you dont like methodist, im sorry, and we are going to let kelly play the roll of an Holy Ghost filled pentacostal.  this is going to be fun.  i come up to the guy first and i start telling him the things ive learned in a baptist church.  explain to him once saved always saved this that and the other.  the guy was interested in what i was saying but he just wasnt ready to accept Jesus just yet.  the next day sarah meets the same guy and tells him something totally different from what i said.  the man is now scratching his head now wondering who was right, me or sarah.  the next day kelly meets the very same guy and explains to him that once he gets saved he must be baptized, he needs to be filled with the Holy Ghost, be able to speak in tongues, do miracles, this that and the other, which is totally different from what me and sarah has told him.  now this guy is more confused about Jesus, the gospel, heaven and everything that has to do with Christianity because he heard 3 different versions of the gospel.  yall the gospel is very very simple, Jesus died on the cross for your sins, rose on the third day, and he is sitting at the right hand of the Father waiting for you to accept Him as Lord and Savior of you life.  How hard is that.  its not that hard so why do we make it so blame complicated.  ive been saved for 21 years.  if i didnt know the gospel myself, and after hearing the way its being shared to this lost and dieing world we have here, i probably wouldnt want to be a part of Christianity.  i know the rewards for following Jesus.  i know the gospel.  what i dont know is why have we allowed it to become the most confusing religion in the world.  Jesus saids "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No man comes to the Father but by me."  thats simple.  hearing what you HAVE to do afterwards is what makes it confusing.  if we want to reach this world that is going to hell with the love of Jesus, we have to go back to the basics and make the gospel simple and easy to understand, not complicated.  i pray that the church as a whole, the entire Christian nation, realizes how complicated we have made the gospel and get it back to being all about Jesus dieing on the cross saving the world.  Amen!
